About Me

Hi, I Am Gul Bajaj

I am the owner of Gul Bajaj Academy. A passionate Montessori/Waldorf inspired preschool teacher, wife to an affectionate husband, a mother to two adorable boys (ages 12 and 15), and a rescue dog who inspires me to be the best version of myself.

This blog is my outlet through which I will chronicle my life as a preschool teacher. I have always had a creative mindset, and I approach teaching with this very trait along with some fun and humor to bring the best out of my students.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I wore many hats. I was an event manager, fitness instructor, social media content designer (edited videos, created posters, fliers and designed web pages). I also run a dance school, conduct summer camps, and work with children with special needs. This varied and versatile work experience provides me with a unique outlook on how I approach my challenges both in life and teaching.

Through this blog, I hope to inspire and meet like-minded people.

Gul has been an amazing teacher and person to work with. My twins started with her when they were four years old. I have seen them grow leaps and bounds under her. My son who was barely writing until then was writing his full name day 2 of being in her classroom. The best thing I love about Gul is her patience in teaching the children, her kindness in accommodating all their needs as well as her differentiation based on each learner. There has never been a day of crying for going to school with my kids and I think that by itself speaks a lot for Gul Bajaj Academy!

Dancing with Gul has always been a wonderful experience!
I first met Gul in 2016, when I attended a Masala Bhangra class I’d happened upon in the Meetup app. The class was energetic; the teacher was happy, and the adult students were truly enjoying themselves. It was a great workout!

Gul invited me to continue coming, and also to join the Bhangra dance troupe she was organizing for the Cary Diwali festival.
Joining the dance troupe was one of the best decisions I made! Gul not only choreographed but also danced in the troupe. She brings such positive energy and treated each person as a wonderful friend.
Beyond the dance troupe and performing at Cary Diwali, I have had other opportunities to perform and work with Gul.

In her private, and professional, life, Gul never ceases to be a positive beam of light. Whether you know Gul through dance or through life, count yourself lucky to have such a friend. I know I do!

As a new mom, I wanted my daughter to have the most amazing and memorable 1st birthday party. I had been planning for months, but I needed a partner to give shape to my ideas. And I’m so glad I found Gul.

She was as excited as me about my concept. She was on time and on budget. She brought immense energy to the project. And the result was even beyond my expectation. The decorations were the talk of my friends circle for a long time. I couldn’t have pulled it off without her.

Gul is a very passionate educator whose learning approach was loved by my four-year-old. We could clearly see a spurt in his learning abilities once he started working with Gul.
